WrestleMania 39 Shatters Previous Sales Record

It was recently reported that WWE was extremely happy with early ticket sales for WrestleMania 39. New sales figures show exactly why.

WrestleMania 39 won’t take place until April 1 and 2, 2023, but the event is already shaping up to be a tremendous financial success for WWE. Set to take place at the massive SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, the two-night event will showcase some of the biggest stars on the company’s roster. It’s impossible to know who will be on the card and involved in the major storylines, making these early sales figures even more impressive.

SoFi Stadium could allow WWE to break its previous WrestleMania attendance record, which was set during the 32nd rendition of the event in 2016. Ironically, Triple H was arguably involved in the night’s biggest match against Roman Reigns. Now The Game is head of creative for WWE after Vince McMahon stepped down, while The Tribal Chief is in the midst of an all-time great run with the Universal Championship. Hunter has already helped guide both Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown to stellar ratings, and the storytelling has improved with the former ring general in charge. WrestleMania 39 could give that evening a run for its money, given how quickly tickets are selling for the Showcase Of The Immortals.

In a press release, WWE “announced a record for first-day ticket sales for WrestleMania 39 taking place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Over 90,000 tickets were sold within the first 24 hours – more than any event in WWE history and a 42% increase over first-day sales for WrestleMania 38 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.” In the release, Triple H was quoted stating that “[i]n nearly 40 years, we have never sold that many WrestleMania tickets that fast. With those record numbers, we are tracking toward sell-outs with passionate fans at SoFi Stadium for both nights.

There’s no denying that WWE is on a hot streak, which seems to be showing through in these ticket sales. Vince McMahon’s legacy is complicated at this point, but he built the WWE up to be a multi-billion dollar publicly traded company. However, it needed a fresh set of eyes, and Triple H has supplied that.

Just about anything could happen between now and WrestleMania 39. The Rock vs. Roman Reigns has long been the company’s dream main event for night two, and rumors indicate that hasn’t changed under Triple H. The likes of Brock Lesnar, Cody Rhodes, Becky Lynch, and Ronda Rousey also figure to play into plans for the Show Of Shows. WWE will broadcast WrestleMania 39 live on Peacock in the United States and on the WWE Network everywhere else.
