New footage from Netflix’s upcoming fantasy Damsel sees Millie Bobby Brown’s lead heroine prepare to fight a massive, fire-breathing dragon.
Mille Bobby Brown squares up to fight a fire-breathing dragon in new footage from her upcoming Netflix fantasy, Damsel. Rising to fame with her role as Eleven in Stranger Things, Brown has since starred in a number of other high-profile films, including Enola Holmes and Enola Holmes 2 in 2020 and 2022, respectively. The Enola Holmes films are part of a larger collaboration between Brown and Netflix, with both films also featuring the young actor as a producer. Outside of her Netflix productions, Brown also recently appeared in Godzilla: King of the Monsters and 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong.
Now, a new trailer released by Netflix showing off their most anticipated 2023 original movies sees Brown’s Princess Elodie preparing to fight a dragon in Damsel.
Although only a few brief snippets are shown off from the movie, Damsel is shaping up to be a classic medieval fantasy adventure. The footage features a handful of shots from the movie, including Brown taking cover from the dragon’s fire breath, her character on a boat in the ocean, and some of the film’s impressive supporting cast members.

While the October 13 release date for the film is still quite a ways off, some plot details for Damsel have already been released. The upcoming Netflix fantasy, which is directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, will follow Elodie, a young woman who thinks she is destined to become a princess to a perfect prince. These dreams are shattered, however, when she is thrown into a dragon pit as a sacrifice. Brown’s character attempts to survive long enough to be rescued by a brave hero but soon realizes that she will have to save herself. As with the Enola Holmes films, Brown serves as a producer on Damsel. The film is written by Dan Mazeau, who is also credited as a writer on 2012’s Wrath of the Titans and the upcoming Fast X.
In addition to Brown as the lead character, Damsel also has an impressive supporting cast. After most recently appearing in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Angela Bassett will play Lady Bayford, Elodie’s stepmother, in the film. Robin Wright, best known to many audiences for her performances in The Princess Bride, Forrest Gump, and Wonder Woman will also appear as Queen Isabelle. Damsel also features Ray Winstone in an unknown role, in addition to Nick Robinson, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Brooke Carter.
Every Upcoming Millie Bobby Brown Movie & TV Show
Outside of Damsel, Brown will feature in a number of upcoming movies and TV shows. After first playing Eleven back in 2016, Brown is set to say farewell to Stranger Things with season 5, which will serve as the show’s last. When the Duffer Brothers’ smash hit fantasy horror series comes to an end, Brown doesn’t look like she will be slowing down, however, with the actor currently attached to a number of projects that are currently in the works. Brown will star in the Russo Brothers’ upcoming science-fiction movie, The Electric State, which is currently in production, in addition to other projects like The Thing About Jellyfish and The Girls I’ve Been.
