The hit movie Everything Everywhere All At Once is officially returning to theaters after a wave of historic Oscar nominations for the project.
Everything Everywhere All At Once is returning to theaters after collecting a staggering 11 Oscar nominations. The story of a tired and beaten down laundromat owner turned savior of the multiverse, Everything Everywhere All At Once is a take on the now-popular multiversal narrative that doesn’t focus on superheroes and instead settles on a regular everyday hardworking woman trying to make ends meet. Melding different genres, settings, and styles of storytelling, Everything Everywhere All At Once is a unique production that has really served as a means to change the industry entirely by avoiding tropes and stereotypes typical of movies.
After its incredible performances earned Everything Everywhere All At Once several Oscar nominations, director Daniel Kwan announced on Twitter that the movie will be back in theaters to celebrate the news. Check out his post below:
After previously returning to theaters for an extended cut in July, Everything Everywhere All At Once will again be available for anyone who failed to watch it prior to award season. As Kwan assures, anyone can come to see the film for any reason at one of the 1,400 theaters that will be showing off the production.
How Everything Everywhere All At Once Made History With The Oscars
With its nominations alone, Everything Everywhere All At Once has already made history with impressive Academy recognition that has seen it nominated for Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and six other major nods. One of the Everything Everywhere All At Once directors reacted to the nominations with surprise, especially since the project grossed $104.1 million on a $25 million budget — an amount often significantly outspent by other contemporary films, including Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water.
Yet what is really game-changing about Everything Everywhere All At Once is the representation that the movie provides. With an Asian star who isn’t stereotyped or restricted to a minor supporting role, Everything Everywhere All At Once provided a unique and interesting representation of the Asian community. The star actor, Michelle Yeoh, reacted to her historic Oscar nomination by making it clear that she views her nomination as a serious moment for the industry that could be the beginning of strides toward genuine equality and equity in Hollywood for Asians and other minority groups.
Can You Stream Everything Everywhere All At Once?
While Everything Everywhere All At Once is returning to theaters for another run, that isn’t the only place where the movie is streaming. It can currently be found on Paramount+ (only if purchased with the Showtime bundle) and Showtime itself. It can also be viewed on YouTube, Prime Video, Hulu, SlingTV, and FuboTV, though it will generally still need to be purchased, as it is fairly early in its run. The primary way to access the movie is through Showtime as part of its $10.99 per month bundle. Not every 2023 Oscars nominee can be viewed online, so this is the best chance to watch Everything Everywhere All At Once if streaming is not an option.
