Screen Rant is pleased to present an exclusive clip celebrating the upcoming release of Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre. The STX and Miramax production, which lands in theaters on March 3, is being distributed by Lionsgate in the US. Jason Statham leads the fun and quirky action comedy, alongside a top-notch cast that includes Hugh Grant (who will also be gracing the screen in Dungeons & Dragons soon), Aubrey Plaza, Cary Elwes, Bugzy Malone, and Josh Hartnett.
Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre is written and directed by acclaimed British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, and it finally received a release date after being removed from the schedule in 2022. The long-awaited spy story follows undercover operative Orson Fortune (Statham) as he enters into a high-stakes mission with a group of talented associates: Sarah Fidel (Plaza), J.J. Davies (Malone), and Nathan Jasmine (Elwes). Their plan is to recruit top celebrity Danny Franscensco (Harnett) and use him to stop arms broker Greg Simmonds (Grant) from selling new weapons technology.
More About Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre
The playful chemistry between the cast and director of Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre is evident in Screen Rant‘s exclusive behind-the-scenes clip. The game kicks off in a complimentary fashion, with the majority of the crew crowning Jason Statham “Most Likely to Nail a Scene in One Take,” but things soon slide into more hilarious territory. But whether they’re poking fun at the colleague who naps between takes or the filmmaker who cracks himself up on set, the stars of the upcoming action-adventure livened up the atmosphere and set the tone for their movie.
Despite the large number of cast members participating in the fun game, there are still plenty more important pieces to Operation Fortune‘s puzzle. Eddie Marsan, who has frequently collaborated with Ritchie on the Sherlock Holmes movies and more recently in Wrath of Man, also appears as Norman. Tim Seyfi, Lourdes Faberes, and Max Beesley also star.
Lionsgate is starting off 2023 with plenty of action, seeing as John Wick: Chapter 4 is next on their slate. They will also be premiering The Expendables 4, starring none other than Jason Statham, in September. Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre has a runtime of 114 minutes and is rated R for language and violence.
