Spider-Man 4 Fan-Trailer Shows Maguire’s Family Life After No Way Home

[ad_1]

A new Spider-Man 4 fan-trailer imagines Tobey Maguire’s family life after the big events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Phase 4 marked the start of the Multiverse Saga for Marvel Studios as the Marvel Cinematic Universe began exploring alternative realities and variants. One of the major cornerstones was Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was more than just a trilogy finale for Tom Holland’s web-slinger. Not only did Peter Parker complete his trilogy, but he crossed paths with two other Spider-Men, as Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire reprised their respective roles. Spider-Man: No Way Home became one of Phase 4’s most profitable and well-received installments for the MCU.

It has been almost two years since Maguire and Garfield suited up as their beloved versions of Spider-Man, leaving fans wanting more. While Holland is set to return for Spider-Man 4, which is still in development, the future of Maguire and Garfield’s Spideys is still unclear.

However, some are already imagining what Maguire’s Spider-Man 4 could be after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Screen Culture recently debuted a new Spider-Man 4 fan-made trailer, depicting Maguire’s Spider-Man dealing with family life while also still being a superhero.

What Raimi’s Canceled Spider-Man 4 Would Have Included

What many may not know is that Maguire was initially going to have his own Spider-Man 4 film after the third installment in the mid-2000s. Sam Raimi was set to helm the new film, potentially as the start of a new trilogy. Maguire, Kristen Dunst, and J.K. Simmons were all eyed to reprise their respective characters, along with Bryce Dallas Howard as Gwen Stacy. Spider-Man 4 was initially slated to arrive in theaters on May 6, 2011.

Over the years, bits and pieces about Spider-Man 4‘s plot have managed to make their way online. One of the big payoffs was the evolution of Dylan Baker’s Dr. Curt Connors, who was potentially going to be transformed into The Lizard. Before Michael Keaton was tapped as The Vulture in the MCU, John Malkovich was almost the first live-action Adrian Toomes. There were also reports that Anne Hathaway would bring Felicia Hardy, a.k.a. Black Cat, to life in Spider-Man 4.

But due to multiple creative disagreements behind-the-scenes, Sony scrapped Spider-Man 4 in January 2010 in favor of The Amazing Spider-Man reboot with Garfield and Marc Webb. While Maguire never got a sequel trilogy, the beloved Spider-Man star could always get another shot in the MCU. With Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars being instrumental to the Multiverse Saga, Maguire’s Spider-Man could always return through those films. Even though Spider-Man 4 is being in the works for Holland, time will tell if at least Avengers: Secret Wars will see Maguire suit up once again.
