Lance Reddick, The Wire & John Wick Star, Dead At 60

Lance Reddick has passed away at the age of 60. The star, who held over 100 roles in film and television titles across his career, was born in Baltimore on June 7, 1962. He first rose to prominence in the mid-2000s on the back of roles in television series including Lost, Oz, Fringe, and The Wire.


Per TMZ, Reddick was found dead today, seemingly of natural causes, at his apartment in Studio City. The consummate performer will be sorely missed by his friends, family, and fans. Lance Reddick’s Loss Leaves a Hole in Hollywood

Reddick’s contributions to the entertainment industry cannot be overstated. The hardworking actors left his inimitable handprint on every project he touched, which included many major titles. Projects that benefitted from his appearance include Netflix’s Resident Evil series, the Prime Video Michael Connelly adaptation Bosch, and Adam Wingard’s cult favorite The Guest.

There are also quite a few upcoming projects slated to feature a performance from Reddick. In fact, he can be seen reprising the role of the hotel manager Charon in John Wick: Chapter 4, which hits theaters next weekend on March 24. He is also set to appear in the upcoming Shirley Chisholm biopic Shirley and the Jack Harlow remake White Men Can’t Jump.

Because of his indefatigable approach to his craft, Lance Reddick was also meant to appear in several other projects in various stages of production. He was recently announced to play Zeus in Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, which has wrapped filming on season 1 but will likely have to alter their plans for the future. He was also set to appear in the upcoming Ana de Armas led John Wick spinoff Ballerina, which will likely have to change course.
