Jonathan Majors Lawyer Says Video Evidence Will Prove Actor Innocent

[ad_1]

After the actor’s recent arrest, Jonathan Majors‘ lawyer insists that video evidence will prove that he is not guilty of any crime. Majors has made a name for himself with the release of Creed III and his role as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yet, while the actor has certainly risen to prominence, he has found himself on the wrong side of the law.

Majors was arrested on Saturday and is currently facing charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment. His alleged victim, who has not been named, was taken to the hospital. In a statement released to Variety, Majors’ defense lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, insisted that there is evidence that will prove Majors is completely innocent, including “video footage from the vehicle where the alleged incident took place, witness testimony from the driver and onlookers, and two written statements from the woman recanting the allegations.” Check out her statement below:

“Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is provably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows. We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently.

“All the evidence proves that Mr. Majors is entirely innocent and did not assault her whatsoever. Unfortunately, this incident came about because this woman was having an emotional crisis, for which she was taken to a hospital yesterday. The NYPD is required to make an arrest in these situations, and this is the only reason Mr. Majors was arrested. We expect these charges to be dropped soon.”

Everything We Know About Jonathan Majors’ Arrest

According to sources, Majors’ alleged victim is the 30-year-old girlfriend of the actor. After a night at a bar, sources allege she saw Majors texting another woman, and the two began arguing over the texts as they returned to their apartment. In the taxi, Majors supposedly caused “minor injuries” to the victim’s head and neck.

The incident allegedly involved strangulation, as well as Majors striking the victim. The victim is currently recovering in the hospital in stable condition, and no reports have indicated anything further about her current status. Majors’ lawyer alleges that the reports have so far been incorrect, and that video evidence will be enough to completely dispute the popular perception of the events.

Chaudhry instead argues that Majors is actually the victim of the events, which the video will allegedly prove. Whether the lawyer’s accounting is correct remains to be seen. As it stands, the actor could be facing years in prison if the video evidence is not enough to dispute the initial claims.
