Jonathan Majors Dropped From Upcoming Movie After Arrest For Alleged Assault

Jonathan Majors has officially been dropped from his first movie following his arrest for alleged assault. In the middle of a banner year for the actor that included Creed 3 and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Majors was arrested on March 25 due to an alleged domestic violence incident in New York involving a woman who was taken to the hospital with “minor injuries to her head and neck.” Though Majors’ legal representatives have maintained his innocence, the actor’s publicist, The Lede Company, and his manager, Entertainment 360, have already decided to cut ties with him.

Now, Majors has been dropped from a slew of upcoming projects. According to Deadline, the actor will no longer star in the movie The Man in My Basement, an ad campaign for the Texas Rangers, and an Otis Redding biopic that Majors was attached to. The Man in My Basement, which Willem Dafoe is also attached to, is currently searching for a replacement for Majors.

Will Jonathan Majors Be Dropped By The MCU?

With Majors being dropped by his manager, publicist, and now several projects, it’s becoming increasingly likely the Marvel Cinematic Universe will follow suit. Majors debuted in Loki season 1 as He Who Remains and returned in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania as Kang the Conqueror. The latter featured post-credit scenes setting up Kang as the MCU’s next big bad in Loki season 2, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, and Secret Wars. The actor’s arrest has raised questions about his MCU future, though a Deadline reports claims Marvel Studios has had “zero conversations” about replacing Majors.

While other several parties have already severed ties with Majors, it appears Marvel’s plan is to sit tight and assess as the legal process plays out. The actor is scheduled to appear in court on May 8 to face multiple counts of harassment and assault. Majors has already completed filming a significant role in Loki season 2, which for the time being, could be complicating Marvel’s decision about cutting ties with the actor. Now that Jonathan Majors has been dropped from several projects, more are likely to follow, including Spike Lee’s Da Understudy and the Dennis Rodman movie 48 Hours in Vegas.
