A U-Haul truck was stopped by police Monday and the driver taken into custody after reports that a van mowed into pedestrians in Brooklyn, New York.
The truck was stopped by police near the entrance to a tunnel leading from Brooklyn to Manhattan.
The incident happened on the same day an Islamic extremist is facing sentencing for mowing down and killing eight people in a 2017 rampage careering down a New York City bike path. A jury was weighing a possible death sentence.
