Three new clips from John Wick: Chapter 4 have been released, showing Keanu Reeves’ hitman becoming involved in high-stakes games of life and death.
Three new clips from John Wick: Chapter 4 have given audiences a glimpse at the current whereabouts of Keanu Reeves’ master hitman. The latest installment in the neo-noir action thriller franchise stars Reeves alongside newcomers Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, and Hiroyuki Sanada, as well as returning cast members Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, and Lance Reddick. After faking his death in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, John Wick: Chapter 4 prepares to take his fight against the High Table global.
Through their YouTube channel, IGN released three new official clips from John Wick: Chapter 4 ahead of its March 24 release date. In the first clip below, Wick regroups with the Bowery King (Fishburne) and Winston Scott (McShane) at a French train station and receives a new specially-made suit. Meanwhile, the two subsequent clips see Wick thrown into deadly card games against two of John Wick: Chapter 4‘s new High Table characters, Yen’s friend-turned-foe Caine and Skarsgård’s Marquis de Gramont.
How John Wick Takes His Fight To The High Table In Chapter 4
Though John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum concluded with Wick believed to be dead by the High Table after seemingly being shot dead by Winston, the John Wick: Chapter 4 clips suggest the hitman will not stay in the shadows for too long as Wick travels to Paris to bring his enemies down. Despite this, Wick may still have an advantage over the High Table through his alliance with Winston, who regained his position as manager of the Continental when he shot John. As such, Winston could act as Wick’s man on the inside, giving him insight from behind the scenes.
In addition to showing Wick’s current strategies against the High Table, the newly released clips give insight into the inner workings of the enigmatic High Table. In the clip featuring Wick’s deadly game with the Marquis de Gramont, their match is being observed by Clancy Brown’s Harbinger, another high-ranking operative of the High Table, who states the rules of the game. With Wick being drawn into two separate games against Caine and the Marquis in John Wick: Chapter 4, the card games could be part of a larger rite-of-passage within the High Table where members can climb the ranks.
As John Wick: Chapter 4 continues the assassin’s quest for vengeance, the franchise is immersing itself even more into the world’s secretive assassin communities. With Wick’s latest goal seeing him target the powerful High Table itself, the upcoming film can give viewers their best look at the mysterious forces operating in the background of the franchise. As such, John Wick: Chapter 4 could see Wick partake in a number of deadly games as he makes his way through the ranks of the High Table.
