After a long awards season, the 2023 Oscars winners have finally been announced. A year after the Will Smith-Chris Rock slapping incident dominated the 2022 Oscars, a controversy that is still lingering to this day, the Academy Awards are back to honor this past year’s best in film. Everything Everywhere All at Once leads the pack with 11 total nominations, with All Quiet on the Western Front and The Banshees of Inisherin tied for second with nine nominations each. This past year’s two biggest blockbusters, Top Gun: Maverick and Avatar: The Way of Water, are also represented nicely with six and four nominations respectively.
Emceed by the returning two-time host Jimmy Kimmel, the 95th Academy Awards began airing at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Throughout the night, the 2023 Oscars will be handed out to the stars in attendance at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
