Exclusive: Screen Rant presents a clip from new thriller film To Catch A Killer, in which Shailene Woodley tracks down a deranged individual.

Screen Rant is pleased to present an exclusive clip from To Catch a Killer, a new thriller being distributed by Vertical. Serving as Argentine director Damián Szifron’s English-language directorial debut, which he co-wrote with Jonathan Wakeham, the film releases in theaters on April 21. The story follows a female police investigator recruited by the FBI to profile and chilling murderer.

Shailene Woodley (The Last Letter from Your Lover) stars as Eleanor, the talented but problematic young cop who bears narrative similarities to Silence of the Lambs‘ Clarice Starling. When she is called in by the FBI’s chief investigator (Ben Mendelsohn, soon to return as Talos in Secret Invasion) to track a murderer, she will have to battle demons of her own that resurface. To Catch a Killer centers Eleanor’s own disturbed psyche as she helps the nationwide manhunt for a man that perhaps only she can understand.

In Screen Rant’s exclusive clip from To Catch a Killer, the investigative team settles in to watch some truly disturbing footage. Eleanor watches as the murderer goes directly for food, seeking to sustain himself (with only vegetables) and get himself cleaned up before a sickening decimation of life ensues. As all the agents look on in horror, Eleanor steels herself for what must be done to catch the assailant.

Vertical has already released several well-released projects in 2023, including the quirky rom-com Maybe I Do, starring Richard Gere and Susan Surandon.
