A new poster for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse showcases over 30 Spider-Man variants. The upcoming sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will see Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) travel the multiverse, where they will meet a variety of new iterations of Spider-Man, as it was briefly explored in the 2018 animated film. These Spider-People form what’s known as the Spider-Force, who are tasked to protect the multiverse until a new threat arrives which jeopardizes its safety, leading to a civil war among the Spider-Man variants.
Now, the official Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Twitter account has released a brand-new poster, teasing how big the Spider-Force is going to be. While its main characters, such as Miguel O’Hara (Oscar Isaac), Jessica Drew (Issa Rae), and Spider-Punk (Daniel Kaluuya) are teased in the front of the poster, many other variants are hinted in the background, including Spider-Cowboy, a second Jessica Drew, and Spider-Man Unlimited, signaling that the movie will go deeper than imagined in creating a Spider-Verse of infinite possibilities. Every Spider-Man Variant We Know Of In Across The Spider-Verse
Many other variants will be present in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Jake Johnson will reprise his role from the first film as Peter B. Parker. Other known variants will appear, such as the Peter Parker from the Insomniac Spider-Man video game, and Peter Parker from the Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man films, though the latter is rumored to appear and has not made an official appearance in any of the film’s promotional materials yet.
More deep cuts are also slated to appear, which include Takura Yamashiro, the Spider-Man from the 1978 Japanese television series from Toei. Also confirmed to appear are Pavitr Prabhakar/Spider-Man India, Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider, Otto Octavius/Superior Spider-Man, Spider-Monkey, Maybelle Reilly/Lady-Spider, and the Megaverse version of Spider-Man. The movie will also feature Mayday Parker/Spider-Girl, who will be presented as Peter Parker and Mary Jane’s baby daughter, who grows up to become Spider-Girl.
Many other variants were present in the second trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, including Spider-Poison, the Iron Spider, Web-Man, the Impossible Spider-Man, White Widow, Spider-Mechanic, Earth-X Spider-Man, Spider-Armor MK I, Digital Spider-Man, the Ultimate Tarantula, and the Dormammu-Verse version of Spider-Man. It looks like every single iteration of Spider-Man, in comics, film, television, and video games could very well make an appearance in this film, and the upcoming Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which will be the second part of the Across the Spider-Verse story arc. Time will tell exactly how many variants will appear, and how important they will be to the story when Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse releases exclusively in movie theaters on June 2.
