A new Avengers fan poster with a fitting title imagines the villain Galactus arriving in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, faced by an exciting team.

A new, fan-made Marvel Cinematic Universe poster imagines Galactus as the villain of a new Avengers movie. Since the MCU kicked off in 2008, there have been four Avengers films, which include The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. The slate for Phases 5 and 6 include Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, the latter of which has been subject to many online rumors about who may appear in the film.

One character that viewers have long speculated will eventually show up in the MCU is the Marvel Comics villain Galactus, who appeared on-screen once before in the negatively received 2007 movie Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. While Kang (Jonathan Majors) and his many variants have been confirmed as the MCU’s next big bad after Thanos (Josh Brolin), making it likely that he will feature heavily in the two upcoming Avengers movies, it’s possible that Galactus will step in as the MCU’s major villain after Phase 6. Now, a fan-made poster shared by graphic designer Marvels.Wolverine via Instagram for a potential film titled Avengers: Age of Galactus imagines that possibility, uniting the current Avengers as well as Wolverine, the Silver Surfer, and Mr. Fantastic to fight the entity. When Will Galactus Show Up In The MCU?

Like Kang, Galactus is one of the most powerful entities in the Marvel universe. The franchise needs time in order to once again build up a cohesive team that can take on the planet eater, since the Avengers are currently in the process of rebuilding post-Avengers: Endgame and many new heroes are being introduced that could potentially join the fight. Unused storyboards from Thor: Love And Thunder confirmed Galactus was originally set to appear in a cameo in the Phase 4 movie, showing there is a plan to eventually introduce the character into the MCU at large. However, it’s likely there will be a longer wait, since Galactus originally interacted heavily with the Fantastic Four, who have yet to make their official debuts.

Fantastic Four is set for release prior to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, which could potentially set the Galactus storyline into motion depending on the events of the movie. Alternately, if Eternals 2 were to happen, the planet-eating villain could also be introduced in that film, since the Eternals in general tend to deal with more cosmic threats. While Galactus may be teased in MCU Phase 6 as a presence in the background before finally coming to the surface and threatening the Fantastic Four and the new Avengers team in Phase 7, it’s possible there will be a longer wait for the character to appear.

Will Mr. Fantastic And Wolverine Be In The New Avengers Team?

The above poster also makes Wolverine, Mr. Fantastic, and the Silver Surfer part of the Avengers’ new team, which would be an exciting direction for the future of the MCU. With Hugh Jackman confirmed to be returning as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, it’s possible the character will stick around, though those details are still unknown. However, with the Fantastic Four movie coming out right before the two upcoming Avengers films, it seems likely that the team will fight side-by-side with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as they face Kang and whatever other threats the MCU throws at them in Phase 6 and beyond.
