The Walt Disney Company has laid off Isaac “Ike” Perlmutter, the chairman of Marvel Entertainment after 30 years with the company. Perlmutter has had a controversial run at Disney, running into conflict with Marvel Studios executive Kevin Feige that resulted in the Mouse House restructuring the company.


As reported by The New York Times, Perlmutter has been laid off from his Marvel role at Disney, where he oversaw Marvel Entertainment, a division separate from Marvel Studios that dealt with consumer products. According to NYT, Marvel Entertainment will be folded into other Disney divisions. Perlmutter has been part of Disney since selling Marvel to the Mouse House in 2009 for $4 billion.
