Everything We Know About The MCU’s Adam Warlock

Adam Warlock’s arrival in the MCU had long been rumored due to his involvement in the Infinity Saga comics narrative. After being explicitly set up in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 post-credits scene, there were expectations that he would play a role in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, but that didn’t happen. Instead, Marvel Studios delayed Adam Warlock’s MCU introduction until the Multiverse Saga, and somehow, this makes his role so much more intriguing.

Without being cuffed to his biggest story in print, Marvel Studios have more creative wiggle room to utilize him however they want. Since his most well-known narratives have already been adapted to the big screen, the MCU may be mining inspiration from Warlock’s lesser-known adventures, which could be for the best since it allows the franchise to incorporate him into its storyline better. That may be the case in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, as Warlock is seen fighting Star-Lord and his team. In the comics, Warlock teamed up with High Evolutionary, which effectively pits him against the Guardians.

Could Adam Warlock Be The Ultimate Hero Of The Multiverse Saga?

While Adam Warlock missed the chance to be the Infinity Saga’s big hero, Marvel Studios could set him up as an essential player in the Multiverse Saga. Gunn couldn’t talk about spoilers and what’s next for characters in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 beyond the threequel, but it sounds like Marvel Studios have some big plans for the character. This is arguably a better way to utilize the character as it gives the MCU more time to flesh out the character that could make him worthy of playing a big role in the Multiverse Saga’s culmination in Destin Cretton’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
