What’s Next For Ke Huy Quan
After a nearly 20-year hiatus from acting, Quan found himself deeply inspired by the 2018 hit Crazy Rich Asians. The same year, he was cast in Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan’s Everything Everywhere All at Once, a film that proved Quan’s abilities in front of the camera. For his role as Waymond Wang, the actor took home both the Golden Globe and the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor among a multitude of other awards.
Audiences can next see Quan in the Disney+ series American Born Chinese, an action-adventure show based on the popular graphic novel of the same. The series will see the actor star alongside Everything Everywhere All at Once co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Stephanie Hsu. Quan was also cast in the highly-anticipated Loki season 2, joining returning stars Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Owen Wilson, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
Since Quan’s resurgence in popularity, audiences have speculated if he will reprise his most iconic roles in future sequels. The actor previously stated that a Goonies follow-up will likely never see the light of day, especially with director Richard Donner passing away in 2021. With Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny releasing later this year, audiences have also wondered if Quan would make an appearance as Short Round. Unfortunately, he has repeatedly stated that he will not feature in the upcoming sequel. However, the actor expressed interest in reprising his iconic Indiana Jones character in a potential Short Round spinoff project.
