Fresh off of its biggest cast yet, John Wick director Chad Stahelski is sharing some of his dream castings for the franchise, namely Aquaman‘s Jason Momoa and Peaky Blinders‘ Cillian Murphy. The Keanu Reeves-led franchise has proven to be one of the genre’s most consistently successful of the past decade, with the recently released John Wick: Chapter 4 scoring the best reviews yet and setting a new record for the best Thursday opening night box office. While the future of the franchise remains unknown, that’s not stopping ideas about further sequels.

In honor of the film’s release, Screen Rant spoke exclusively with Chad Stahelski to discuss John Wick: Chapter 4. When asked about his thoughts on who he’d like to bring into the action franchise, the director made a list of dream castings, namely that of Cillian Murphy and Jason Momoa, among others. See what Stahelski said exclusively in the comments and video below:

So many people. So many! Keanu and I have a whole board of people we’d love to work with. If you told me Cillian Murphy was going to be in a John Wick movie, I’d be like, “Oh my God!” If you told me Jackie Chan or Jet Li, or Jason Statham? If you said Stallone was going to make a cameo! I’m a little bit old school, so the dream list is, “Clint Eastwood is going to make an appearance.” Christian Bale, Chris Hemsworth, or Hugh Jackman; Matt Damon and all these people that I love. We’re friends with Jason Momoa, and I can’t imagine a better enticement than Jason Momoa coming in and giving you that look! Like, come on. These are all people we’d love to [work with]. Whether that’s in John Wick or another project, I’m a fanboy just like everybody else. If I could work with those people, I would.

Why Jason Momoa Is A Perfect Fit For The John Wick Franchise

On both film and TV in the past decade, Momoa has frequently shown his skills in the action field with the likes of Game of Thrones, See and as the DC Universe’s Aquaman. Being one of the genre’s biggest names, both in popularity and in sheer stature, Momoa seems like the perfect fit to join the John Wick franchise, though where his allegiances lie is another point of curiosity.

Though having played heroes for the majority of his recent hits, Momoa is trying his hand as a villain with this year’s Fast X as Dante Reyes, the son of Fast Five villain Hernan Reyes out for revenge for his father’s death. Before the first trailer for the film, Momoa had been hyping his antagonist as that of a sadistic killer, as well as being a more flamboyant personality in comparison to his typically macho roles.

With Momoa keen on playing against type roles moving forward, it would be interesting to see him lend his talents to a future John Wick movie, if one does actually get produced.
