The Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s Doctor Strange, Moon Knight, and more crossover in a Midnight Sons fan trailer. The MCU’s Phase Four, which began with WandaVision in January 2021, dived deeper into the shared universe’s horror and supernatural elements more than ever before with Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and the Disney+ series Moon Knight. The MCU also received its first Halloween special with Werewolf by Night. The upcoming Blade reboot, which had trouble finding a director, will introduce Mahershala Ali as the vampire hunter in the MCU.

Could A Midnight Sons Movie Happen In The MCU?

The Midnight Sons were first introduced in Marvel Comics in 1992 when Doctor Strange helped form a team of supernatural superheroes whose frequent members included Morbius, Blade, and Ghost Rider. Now, with Oscar Issac’s Moon Knight and Gael García Bernal’s Werewolf by Night’s making their way into the MCU by way of Disney+ and Mahershala Ali’s Blade movie due out in 2024, fans are excited about the potential future for the Midnight Sons in the shared universe. This fan-made trailer is certainly the most exciting imagination of the supernatural team in the MCU thus far.

Before Moon Knight‘s premiere this past March, Oscar Issac addressed the possibility of the Midnight Sons joining the MCU. Unsurprisingly, the Moon Knight star thinks they would be a cool group to see on screen, even revealing his dream Midnight Sons lineup consists of Moon Knight, Ghost Rider, Punisher, and Daredevil, half of which haven’t been introduced in the MCU yet. Marvel Studios has not announced any plans for featuring the team in the MCU, unlike Thunderbolts, though Issac’s interest is a positive sign.

The MCU is almost certainly building towards the introduction of the Midnight Sons by leaning more into supernatural stories like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Moon Knight, Werewolf by Night, and Blade. Considering the franchise’s direction, it would be more surprising if the Marvel Cinematic Universe didn’t tap into the potential of establishing the supernatural Avengers team. Although, exactly how and when the Midnight Sons all come together remains to be seen.
