Mission: Impossible 7 Image Teases Another Cruise Motorcycle Chase

A new image of Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One shows the star in the midst of an intense motorcycle chase on the streets of Italy. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is expected to serve as the penultimate installment in the franchise. In addition to introducing a handful of new characters, the upcoming sequel is expected to feature lots of the franchise’s signature action, which of course features Cruise doing all of his own stunts.

Ahead of the Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One release date this summer, the official Mission: Impossible Twitter account shared a new image of Cruise in action as superspy Ethan Hunt, this time on a motorcycle in Italy. Check out the new image below:

While some of the movie’s Italy scenes were shown off in the trailer, none of the clips included Cruise’s motorcycle chase. It’s unclear what the context surrounding this action sequence is, but the image makes abundantly clear that it will in fact be Cruise driving the bike.

Everything We Know About Mission: Impossible 7’s Action Sequences

The Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One trailer previously teased that a motorcycle sequence is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the movie’s Italian action sequences. The trailer features Cruise sprinting through Venice and also shows costar Rebecca Ferguson, who plays Ilsa, facing off against the movie’s new villain, played by Esai Morales. Cruise is also shown in the trailer wearing the same white and gray suit as in the image above, but this time driving a yellow Fiat 500 with Hayley Atwell.

While the Italian sequences certainly look impressive, the movie also takes Hunt and his team to other countries. It’s unclear exactly where certain scenes are meant to take place, but Mission: Impossible 7‘s other big motorcycle sequence was filmed in Norway. The scene features Cruise driving his motorbike off a cliff and into a base jump and has been at the center of a lot of the sequel’s marketing.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One also sees Cruise facing off against Morales atop a moving train, although it’s not entirely clear where this sequence takes place. Finally, the trailer features Cruise geared up for a fight in a desert location, which looks like it will be the setting for at least one battle scene involving Isla. While many of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One‘s action scenes have been revealed, previous installments in the franchise suggest that these brief looks are just a small taste of the action extravaganza to come.
