Paul Rudd is hyping Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s big MCU cameos ahead of the Phase 5 movie’s release next month, but he won’t say who is in it.
Paul Rudd is hyping up Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘s major Marvel Cinematic Universe cameos ahead of the film’s release. The third installment of the Ant-Man franchise is set to be the biggest entry yet. Not only does Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania kick off Phase 5 of the MCU, but it features the returns of Scott Lang (Rudd), Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), and Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors). It was also revealed in the Ant-Man 3 trailer that Corey Stoll returns as MODOK.
This massive cast of established MCU characters and major stars appears to be only a piece of the movie’s cast, as Paul Rudd teased Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘s surprising MCU cameos from Marvel heroes at the start of Phase 5 in a recent interview with Fandango.
Near the end of the interview, the cast was asked to discuss the possibility of some exciting MCU cameos happening in Ant-Man 3, and Paul Rudd wasted little time hyping up some important inclusions. He said that the MCU cameos in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania are a 10 out of 10 on the excitement scale.
For people that are aware, I think, we have some good ones in there. Some really good ones. I’m obviously not going to tell you what they are, but I think the ones that people find out about or learn about will be a 10.
Major MCU Cameos Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Could Have
There has long been speculation that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will include some major MCU cameos. One of the most prevalent theories is that some members of the Fantastic Four will appear in the film. Director Peyton Reed originally wanted to direct a Fantastic Four movie before Ant-Man and got close to making it. Since Marvel’s First Family is on the precipice of joining the MCU in Phase 6, an appearance at some point in the first Phase 5 movie would be huge. However, all reports suggest that Marvel has not cast any MCU Fantastic Four members yet, making this possibility a long shot with less than a month to go until Ant-Man 3‘s release.
Some more realistic possibilities for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘s MCU cameos include members of the Young Avengers. Cassie Lang is destined to be part of the team if the MCU ever brings the young heroes together. Hawkeye strengthened the connection between Hawkeye and Ant-Man, so a Jeremy Renner cameo could happen. More importantly, audiences could see Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) appear and meet Cassie. The movie could also deliver a different Young Avengers surprise and introduce a younger and more heroic version of Kang who goes by Iron Lad.
The involvement of Kang the Conqueror could also pave the way for characters from Loki to appear in Ant-Man 3. Viewers could also be treated for cameos from Shang-Chi and other Avengers if Kang is connected to the Ten Rings after all. Since Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the beginning of Phase 5, any MCU cameo that happens in the movie could be a sign from Marvel Studios of that character’s role in the Multiverse Saga as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars approach.
