New Killers of the Flower Moon images have finally arrived. The latest from legendary director Martin Scorsese, the film follows several members of the Osage Nation being mysteriously murdered during the 1920s after oil was discovered on their tribal land in Oklahoma. The movie’s star-studded cast is led by Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Lily Gladstone. For many months, there has only been one image from the highly-anticipated movie circulating the internet.
After the public literally begged for more stills to be released, Apple TV has finally obliged by unveiling three more images of the Killers of the Flower Moon cast in action. Check them out below:
The first image sees De Niro’s character, William Hale, confronting DiCaprio’s Ernest Burkhart. Another image shows Ernest kneeling down and holding hands with his Osage wife, Mollie (played by Gladstone). Lastly, a behind-the-scenes photo shows Scorsese and Gladstone sitting on a church pew.
Killers of the Flower Moon’s Characters Explained
The new images provide the first look at De Niro in the film, who appears to be confronting DiCaprio’s character. In his eleventh collaboration with Scorsese, De Niro plays a cattleman named William Hale who, like many of the movie’s characters, was a prominent figure on the Osage Indian Reservation. Hale will no doubt be a major antagonist in Killers of the Flower Moon since his real-life counterpart rose to local prominence through years of bribery, extortion, and intimidation. Eventually, he became a convicted murderer as well.
After the first Killers of the Flower Moon image, the second batch provides another look at Ernest and Mollie Burkhart. While this is the sixth collaboration between DiCaprio and Scorsese, it is the first time Gladstone is working with the acclaimed director. Their characters will act as the heart and soul of Killers of the Flower Moon before Ernest takes a morally gray turn and realizes his level of complicity in the Osage conspiracy. With such a stacked cast of Oscar-winning performers and interesting characters, Killers of the Flower Moon should continue building anticipation ahead of its fall release.
