Vin Diesel is sharing a behind-the-scenes look at him and co-star Jason Momoa in Fast X. Directed by Louis Leterrier, the highly anticipated sequel to F9 is set to premiere on May 19. Following the events of its predecessor, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) will find himself facing Cipher (Charlize Theron) once again, but it’s also expected that Diesel and Momoa will go head-to-head since it was confirmed that the latter would appear as another one of the film’s primary antagonists. While details surrounding the tenth main installment in the Fast & Furious franchise have been kept under wraps, audiences are excited to see Momoa and learn more about his character, Dante.
In a recent Instagram post, Vin Diesel and Momoa can be seen on set, all smiles while fist-bumping. Check out the image, below:
While awaiting the release of Fast X, Diesel has been sharing several updates, including when they can expect the movie’s first trailer. In this post, the actor wrote in his caption that he enjoys being a part of this franchise and added that the photo was taken after an “intense” scene between the two of them.
Everything We Know About Fast X
In addition to Diesel and Momoa, Theron is returning as Cipher, who was last seen having gotten away following her attack on Dom. Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, John Cena, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Ludacris, Sung Kang, and Helen Mirren are also all set to reprise their respective roles, with Brie Larson, Alan Ritchson and Rita Moreno joining the cast as well. Though not much is known about the plot of Fast X, audiences will see Cipher and Dante work together in a battle against Dom. In teasing his character, Momoa previously revealed that he is different from other roles he has played.
The penultimate entry in The Fast Saga, this latest film is expected to raise the stakes, creating even more excitement for how everything will eventually conclude. Those keeping up with production updates will remember that Justin Lin, who helmed five other installments, was originally the movie’s director but ended up departing, though he remains a producer. The budget of Fast X is notably larger than previous films, as a result of inflation and the COVID-19 pandemic, but the franchise overall has proven to be successful when it comes to box office numbers.
It will be interesting to see how the movie’s large cast comes together on-screen, and audiences will continue to learn some of what to expect through Diesel’s social media updates and behind-the-scenes content. For more information regarding the characters and its story, the first official Fast X trailer will surely deliver more of those details. Those looking forward to learning more about Momoa’s Dante, his relationship with both Dom and Cipher, and how the Fast & Furious franchise approaches its end can be sure to catch Fast X when it premieres.
