In a recent interview with Collider ahead of the John Wick: Chapter 4 release date, Reeves shares what he found to be the most difficult scenes in the franchise to film. Reeves chooses a few notable highlights across all four films, with two from John Wick: Chapter 4 making the list. Check out Reeves’ full comment below:

“Oh my gosh! [Laughs] Let’s see, the first one that comes to mind was the horse sequence in Chapter 3. I would say, just as the first time, the assault sequence in Chapter 1. I would say the dance party fight in Chapter 2. And I would say probably it’s a tie between the Arc de Triomphe car sequence and the stair sequence in Sacré-Cœur.”

John Wick: Chapter 4 Takes The Franchise’s Action To New Heights

The fact that Reeves chooses two sequences from John Wick: Chapter 4 that were especially difficult to film speaks to how director Chad Stahelski is upping the ante in a big way with the upcoming movie. Each subsequent entry in the franchise attempts to build upon what came before it, and the new movie appears to be taking the gunplay, melee combat, and car action to a new level entirely.

One standout sequence from John Wick: Chapter 4 takes place around the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The trailer has already provided a few glimpses at this sequence and a behind-the-scenes featurette has shown Reeves training in a real muscle car to pull off the complex vehicle maneuvers. As if the driving itself wasn’t difficult enough, the Arc de Triomphe sequence in John Wick: Chapter 4 also features Reeves shooting his pistol at enemies while he guns it around the iconic Parisian landmark.

The third movie featured a horse chase sequence through New York City streets and the trailer for the upcoming sequel has teased that the equestrian action is returning. The John Wick: Chapter 4 trailer briefly shows Reeves riding a horse through a desert landscape as others on horseback give chase, an interesting change of pace from the motorcycle-riding enemies he fought off last time. While many questions remain regarding how the upcoming sequel will expand the mythology of the John Wick franchise, it’s already shaping up to be the most exciting entry yet.
