[ad_1]

Jodie Comer has finally addressed rumors that she has been cast in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Fantastic Four reboot. The upcoming film is currently set to hit theaters in 2026 as a part of the MCU’s Phase 6, the final chapter of the Multiverse Saga. Helmed by WandaVision director Matt Shakman, the film will introduce the members of Marvel’s First Family to the MCU. As the casting process takes place behind closed doors, Comer’s name is one that has often come up in regard to the character of Sue Storm, a.k.a. the Invisible Woman. For the first time, the actress has actually addressed such rumors.

About to make her Broadway debut in Prima Facie, Comer was recently interviewed by Happy Sad Confused host Josh Horowitz. When Horowitz brought up the recent rumors about her future career with Marvel, Comer had this to say:

“No, guys, I don’t know anything about it. I feel like when I say this people are like, ‘Okay…’ It’s like, you can’t win either way… I think, ‘Never say never…’ I think, as I said before, like usually when you finish one project, you then want to try something very different, so I don’t know, maybe.”

The Killing Eve actress also claimed to have not met with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige about the role, though she herself acknowledges that her denials mean nothing to audiences in the current era of MCU discourse.

When Will Marvel Announce The MCU Fantastic Four Cast?

Marvel has yet to give audiences any indications about when it will officially announce the cast of Fantastic Four. Now that the character rights have now returned to Marvel, the studio no doubt wants to make sure that it gets the rebooted version of the Fantastic Four exactly right, and that begins with who they get to play each character. While reported Fantastic Four casting calls have supposedly betrayed details about what Marvel is looking for in the actors who bring Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and the Thing to life, no official announcement has confirmed or denied any prominent rumors.

While Marvel may not have yet settled on its cast, there is no denying that the MCU could use some good publicity in the near future. After mixed reviews for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and the abrupt exit of high-ranking of executive Victoria Alonso both in the span of a few weeks, Marvel needs a positive story to reignite the brand ahead of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘s release in May. Even an indication of who might be playing the Fantastic Four would go a long way in distracting the public from Marvel’s recent troubles, though there is no word of any such announcement in the near future.

The most likely event that could see the reveal of the MCU’s Fantastic Four would be San Diego Comic-Con, which is currently set to take place from July 19th to the 23rd. SDCC has been the event in which several major Marvel announcements have been made in the past, including the Multiverse Saga’s unveiling last year. Regardless, the early stages of production for Fantastic Four are rapidly approaching, suggesting that Marvel’s cast announcement is imminent.
