American mixed martial arts star Alyse Anderson is confident of her chances against former two-sport world champion Stamp Fairtex in their showdown later this year. She is banking on her grappling game, where she feels she has the advantage.
‘Lil’ Savage’ steps into action against the Thai superstar in a featured atomweight MMA bout at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video, happening on May 5 at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, U.S.A.
MMA Masters representative Anderson said she has the better grappling skills to deal with Stamp and what the celebrated Thai fighter will bring come fight night.
She told ONE Championship in an interview:
“Honestly, that’s where I see her biggest hole. So that’s where I see myself taking the fight and taking advantage. I’m not concerned about her level of grappling.”
Anderson made her promotional debut in 2021 and has had two fights to date in ONE. She is coming off an impressive first-round submission victory over Asha Roka last May at ONE 157.
A victory over No. 1 contender Stamp would do wonders in her push for a shot at the division’s title, currently held by longtime queen Angela Lee.
ONE Fight Night 10 is the first-ever live on-ground event of ONE Championship in the United States. It will be aired live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
