Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the ninth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Friday (April 6).
LSG faced a defeat in their last encounter against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and are currently placed at the fifth position in the points table with one win and a loss. On the other hand, SRH have just played a single game in the league, which they lost to Rajasthan Royals (RR) by huge 72 runs.
Notably, Hyderabad was captained by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the first match due to the new skipper Aiden Markram’s international commitments. However, the game on Friday will mark the arrival of Markram as well as Heinrich Klaasen to the Hyderabad-based team. Similarly, wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock will also be returning to the LSG side.
SRH will eye their maiden win of the tournament when they meet Lucknow on April 7. Meanwhile, LSG will also look to move up in the points table with a victory.
Pitch report:
The track at Lucknow’s Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium generally favours the bowlers. However, the batters can also score big runs if they spend some time in the middle.
