Shortly after being confirmed for the long-gestating Tim Burton sequel, Jenna Ortega’s Beetlejuice 2 character details reveal her relation to an original character. Development on the horror-comedy has languished for over 30 years, finally gaining steam last year with Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder said to be reprising their beloved roles.
Variety has brought word that Warner Bros. is fast-tracking development on Beetlejuice 2, with the Burton sequel now slated for a 2024 theatrical release. In the release date report, it was also confirmed that Ortega is confirmed to star in the film as the unnamed daughter to original character Lydia Deetz, previously portrayed by Winona Ryder. Ortega’s casting was previously confirmed during WB’s CinemaCon 2023 panel in April.
