An epic piece of Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse fan art sees Miles Morales bond with Venom. Written and produced by Chris Miller and Phil Lord, Across The Spider-Verse will serve as the first installment in a two-part follow-up to the highly successful 2018 film Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. The animated feature introduced Shameik Moore’s Miles Morales, who will return for this much-anticipated sequel, while audiences can also expect the return of Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy and Jake Johnson’s Peter B. Who Is The Villain In Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse?

Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse The Spot

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse will see Miles meet a variety of new Spider-People as he hops through universes and discovers all-new Spider-Man worlds. Venom is not expected to feature, although Miles is set to face off with The Spot, voiced by Jason Schwartzman, who seeks to cause trouble for Miles during the events of the film. The Spot is able to create portals between dimensions, however, despite these powers, the character struggles with people not taking him seriously, with this set to be explored within the events of Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse.

Alongside Schwartzman as The Spot, Oscar Isaac will provide the voice for Spider-Man 2099, otherwise known as Miguel O’Hara, who was teased in the final moments of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. Miller and Lord opened up about Isaac’s character within the Spider-Verse sequel, revealing that while he isn’t a villain as such, he will certainly play more of an antagonistic role in Miles’ story. Details are naturally sparse at this stage, although the recent release of the Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse trailer revealed some exciting first looks at what lies ahead for Miles as he crosses the Spider-Verse.

Venom would certainly be an interesting character to make the leap over to the Spider-Verse and with more than 240 characters confirmed to appear in Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, it may be too soon to rule out the possibility of his involvement. Venom’s next confirmed big-screen appearance will be of the live-action variety in the upcoming, yet-to-be-titled Venom 3, though with Miles’ story set to continue with Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse in 2024, perhaps there is space for this classic Spider-Man villain to make an appearance in the Spider-Verse in the future.
