MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Mithali Raj among others named in the MCC honour list

The prestigious Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) granted a life membership to five renowned Indian cricket players, including MS Dhoni, the captain who led the team to victory in the 2011 World Cup.

The esteemed London club recognized 19 male and female cricketers, including Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh, who were also part of Dhoni’s triumphant 2011 World Cup squad. The esteemed list of honorees includes five cricketers from England and India and players from Australia, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and the West Indies.

Notably, the list includes Mithali Raj, who holds the record for the highest runs in women’s cricket, and Jhulan Goswami, the leading wicket-taker in women’s ODIs.

For the unversed, the MCC evaluates nominations to acknowledge the exceptional international careers of some notable cricketers. It also recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the game or MCC. Following the approval by the MCC Committee, invitation letters are sent to the concerned individuals.
