Screen Rant presents a deleted scene from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, in which Puss comes across a wall of snakes, to celebrate the home release.

Screen Rant is overjoyed to present an exclusive deleted scene from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which is now out on digital and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on February 28. The animated sequel had an incredible run at the box office, despite arriving over a decade after the last Puss in Boots movie and 15 years after the latest Shrek.

Not only did Antonio Banderas return to voice the iconic Puss, but he was also joined by top-notch stars including Salma Hayek as Kitty Softpaws, Harvey Guillén as Perrito, Florence Pugh as Goldilocks, Olivia Colman as Mama Bear, and much more. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish follows Puss as he seeks to find the Wishing Star now that he is on his last life.

What To Expect From Puss in Boots: The Last Wish Collector’s Edition

In Screen Rant‘s exclusive deleted scene from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, director Joel Crawford and co-director Januel Mercado explain that big story changes sometimes lead to perfectly good scenes being deleted. In the scene above, Puss steals the map to the Wishing Star and is confronted with a great wall of snakes ready to attack. Before he can decide how to proceed, Kitty Softpaws stops him to remind him that stealing is wrong and he should rethink his choices.

Despite the temporary voice work and rough animation, the scene is a very fun peek into what else Puss in Boots: The Last Wish could have included. Nor does the fun end there, as the Collector’s Edition includes over an hour of bonus content. Aside from deleted scenes such as the one above, a lyric video, and a cast breakdown for the characters, there is also a brand-new animated short called “The Trident.” These bonus features are the perfect way to keep on expanding the Shrek universe.

In addition to providing the world with more of Antonio Banderas as Puss in Boots, DreamWorks Animation is also preparing Trolls Band Together for later this year. Universal Pictures is also getting audiences excited for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie, which will be out in April. Whether using an original IP or a beloved classic, Universal has its finger on the pulse of pop culture.
