Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves star Regé-Jean Page discusses the infinite possibilities of the Dungeons & Dragons universe. The movie follows Edgin, a charming thief, as he leads a ragtag group of adventurers on a quest for a lost relic. However, their mission, which hits close to home for each of them, becomes even more dangerous as they make powerful magical enemies.
Page’s character, Xenk, is a legendary paladin who ages more slowly than other humans and becomes an unexpected ally of the party of thieves. In Screen Rant‘s exclusive interview for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Page discussed the DnD universe, from the role-playing game to the film. He described it as “infinite,” with endless stories to potentially explore. Check out what Page thinks about expanding the Dungeons & Dragons universe here:
I think the joy of the Dungeons & Dragons universe is that there are no boundaries to it. It’s infinite. And so I think if there are any other stories that people want to tell within that, there are very few constraints to doing that.
How Dungeons & Dragons Sequels Can Expand On Regé-Jean Page’s Paladin
Xenc is an integral part of the quest, no matter how much Edgin wishes he weren’t, but he isn’t in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves for a very long time. He assists the heroes in their search for the Helm of Disjunction and saves them from a group of undead, but leaves them to complete their heist and rescue mission. Xenc has helped countless people over the course of his long life, which could be the perfect springboard for the future of the Dungeons & Dragons story.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves could be the start of a new franchise, potentially following this group of unexpected heroes on new adventures. However, Dungeons & Dragons could expand beyond this adventuring party through characters introduced in the film or completely new adventurers. The already-existing Dungeons & Dragons lore is the perfect anchor to build out this world through these beloved and new characters.
Xenc could be an especially interesting character to delve into. Xenc could be at the center of his own spin-off or even a prequel exploring his past, but he could also become a recurring character within the universe. If there are more Dungeons & Dragons movies in the future, Xenc could be a character that pops up to help the different heroes in their fights against various monsters and magic users. While not the biggest character in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Xenc could be the most important to the continuation of the franchise.
