While no actor has been tapped as the Caped Crusader, The Flash director has been rumored to helm the Batman reboot for the DC Universe. In a recent interview with Narcity Canada, Muschietti was directly asked what he would do if he got the chance to make his own Batman film while cleverly referring to the rumor that recently emerged. However, The Flash and It filmmaker gave an interesting response, sharing the following:

Oh…I don’t think I can talk to that…yet.

Why Andy Muschietti Makes Sense To Direct The Brave And The Bold

While DC Studios have yet to confirm or debunk the Muschietti rumors, it would make sense for him to be tapped to direct Batman: The Brave and The Bold. For starters, The Flash movie has been testing positive in several screenings, and early impressions have already come out, citing it as one of DC’s strongest films in a long time. If The Flash proves to be a commercial success, it would only benefit DC Studio to bring Muschietti back for another DC project.

Muschietti also has a good working relationship with Warner Bros. Discovery, having helmed both It movies, The Flash, and is currently executive producing an It prequel series for Max. Gunn and Safran have expressed their praise for what Muschietti did with The Flash, so it would only be ideal for them to have him come back as part of their new DC Universe. It also helps that Muschietti has already had the experience of working with not one but two Batman actors for this upcoming DCEU film.

At this point, it wouldn’t be a massive surprise if Muschietti gets properly announced to direct Batman: The Brave and The Bold once The Flash has been released in theaters. After all, they may want to get a director first before tapping their new Batman, and given his comments, perhaps a deal is or has been locked down already. Hopefully, it won’t be long until the director for Batman: The Brave and The Bold gets announced, regardless of if it is Muschietti.
