Tom Holland’s Spider-Man clashes with Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock in a new Venom 3 fan-made trailer. Despite the lackluster Morbius, Sony’s Spider-Man Universe is still going forward with new and returning franchises. One of them is the series that began this universe which is Venom, starring Hardy as the iconic anti-hero. It has been nearly three years since Venom: Let There Be Carnage arrived in theaters during the global pandemic. However, the sequel was a success that led to Venom 3 getting greenlit by Sony Pictures.
Many have been wondering what Venom 3 is going to focus on, especially after Eddie appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Hardy’s character was briefly in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before being sent back to his world.
Screen Culture released a Venom 3 fan-made trailer as a proof of concept for what the sequel can focus on. Fittingly titled Venom: Along Came A Spider sees Holland and Hardy’s respective symbiotes clashing.
Everything We Know About Venom 3
Currently, Venom 3 has not been given a set release date by Sony Pictures after CinemaCon in 2022. While Andy Serkis helmed the last installment, Venom 3 will be directed by Kelly Marcel. The filmmaker is no stranger to the franchise, as Marcel wrote and produced the first two Venom movies. Venom 3 will also mark Marcel’s directorial debut as she closes out the trilogy.
Hardy is thus far the only confirmed returning cast member for Venom 3. The British star is also co-writing the script with Marcel after doing work on Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Michelle Williams, who plays Anne Weying, has expressed interest in returning for Venom 3. The sequel is currently in pre-production as of February 2023 after Hardy shared an update on Instagram.
If Venom 3 is Hardy’s last time as the iconic Marvel character, the threequel will need to end with a big bang. Venom 3 is likely going to start filming later this year, meaning casting has to come out in a few months. As Venom 3 closes out the series, it will be intriguing to see where they go for Eddie’s last adventure.
