Popular Superman Fan-Cast Becomes Clark Kent In Epic Superman: Legacy Fan Trailer

DC Studios is looking for someone to play Clark Kent in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy movie and a new fan trailer makes a convincing argument for that actor to be Wolfgang Novogratz. Gunn is now co-CEO of DC Studios and is shepherding a reset of DC’s cinematic franchise, closing out the DCEU with The Flash movie (and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom) and relaunching with Superman: Legacy in 2025, which will kick off the theatrical side of the DC Universe.

Much is still unknown about Superman: Legacy, but the biggest thing, of course, is who will play Superman. One potential person is Novogratz, an actor who is frequently listed on Superman fan-cast lists and who Screen Culture uses in a Superman: Legacy fan trailer.

Novogratz has been a popular choice among fans ever since it was confirmed Gunn was doing a Superman reboot. And now that a casting director has been hired for Superman: Legacy, the hunt is on for finding the next actor to don Superman’s cape.

Who Will Be Cast To Play James Gunn’s New Superman

While there have been numerous rumors about who may be cast in Superman: Legacy, Gunn has debunked all of them. In a recent report, DC Studios are looking for a young Chris Pratt-type as the new Man of Tomorrow. To this point, Gunn hasn’t commented on that specific report, which may add some fuel to those rumors. Although, Gunn’s silence doesn’t necessarily mean the Pratt-type report is accurate.

Based on Gunn’s previous statements, Superman: Legacy’s Clark will be in his 20s. Whether that means they are looking for an established star or an unknown actor remains to be seen. It’s possible for a fresh face to be cast as Superman because it would be logically easier for DC Studios to lock in the actor for a longer contract. It’s a similar route to what DC and Warner Bros. previously did with Henry Cavill when he was cast for Man of Steel.

Hopefully, by the time they get to San Diego Comic-Con this year, Gunn will have found his Superman. Announcing the Superman: Legacy cast at Hall H would help DC Studios win some of the Comic-Con buzz. As the year progresses, time will tell when the world meets the new Kal-El for Superman: Legacy.
